The Artist

I’m Sorin! An artist with a soft spot for misfits, bugs, and everything in between.

I work slowly, with clumsy hands and paint stained fingers, building small scenes where even weevils get their moment to shine.

My art focuses on the vibrant nature of the insect world. I work to fight against the fear and misunderstanding around all bugs, not just spiders and cockroaches.
(Arguably roaches are really funny when you put party hats on them)

My dioramas avoid both the grim aesthetic and the overly decorative, instead offer a balanced space where hornets are invited to tea parties, and stink bugs are decorated with flowers.

To put it quite simply, art from the forest floor. I use glass, beads, dried flowers, acorns and dirt. I shift perception toward curiosity and a quiet understanding. Bugs are not scary, they are the child-like wonder a lot of us have been looking for.

My art is not for everyone, still I hope to inspire others to collect art, make art and to appreciate the small and the overlooked.

Let this be the whimsy you didn’t know you needed.
